Healthy Relationships - Creating and

Maintaining Them!

One Day Workshop

Whatever our age, whether we’re single or married we’re all in relationships, be they work, friends, neighbours, siblings, parental or partner relationships.

And sometimes our relationships are not as we’d hoped they would be. Often our work relationships can be going well but our intimate relationship is going through a ‘rocky patch’. And that ‘rocky patch’ may have been going on for years!!

It can feel hopeless, like nothing will ever change, like this is ‘our lot in life’ and we may even reach a point where we feel like giving up.

But it doesn't have to be this way. Change is possible.

I offer a one day interactive workshop specifically designed for people who would like to see their relationships change, and are willing to work for that change.

During the workshop you will learn about:

  • Building healthy relationships
  • Developing good listening and communication skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Creating healthy boundaries in relationships
  • Establishing equality and respect in relationships

If you feel this workshop is for you, please contact me for course details and a registration pack.

Self-Esteem and Assertiveness

Group Porgramme

Does it seem like people are always walking over you? Do you feel like others take advantage of you, and you’re the one who is always picked on? Do you feel like you never know what to say when someone challenges you, and when you try to stand up for yourself you either end up giving in, or losing your cool?  Does this sound like you?

Some people experience this at work, including being bullied by others.  For others it’s in their personal relationships.  Whichever way, their self-esteem and sense of worth is being beaten down, and often feels like their life is in tatters.

To help those who find themselves experiencing this (both men and women),  I offer an eight session group programme where participants have the opportunity to learn practical skills to assist in communicating in an assertive, healthy manner, as well as helping to begin to grow in their sense of self-worth and self-esteem. During the programme participants will work both individually and as a group, using this environment to put into practice the assertiveness tools and skills they learn through the programme.

Some of the topics explored in the programme are:

  • Characteristics of assertiveness and other communication styles
  • Modelling and development of communication styles
  • Affirmations of self and others
  • Identifying, managing and expressing emotions in a healthy manner
  • Developing good listening , communication and conflict skills

If you’re looking to grow in self esteem and create a more assertive way of communicating then this programme may well be for you.

'Controlling The Volcano Within'

Programme Helping Women Deal With

Their Anger

For most of us at any given point in time there will be someone in our lives who ‘pushes all our buttons’. For some of us we may be experiencing relationships where we feel disempowered, bullied or abused.

How do we respond at those times? Sometimes not how we’d like to. Sometimes we get so frustrated and feel so dis-empowered that our anger wells up and, just like a volcano, when we least expect it we end up exploding. At times it may not even be the person we’re angry with that bears the brunt of our anger. Often it’s someone we love, someone who just happens to be in the firing line.

We may end up feeling powerless, not knowing how to manage the relationship and start to feel like our anger is spiraling out of control. It doesn't have to be this way.

I offer a ten session group or individual programme specifically designed for women who find that their lives, and the lives of those around them, are impacted by how they manage their anger.

The programme aims to empower women to regain their voice in that difficult relationship. It helps them to understand their emotions of anger and to learn how to express them in a healthy way.

Topics in this programme include:

  • Early warning signs of anger
  • Connection between thinking, feeling, and behaviour
  • What is anger/abuse?
  • Forms of abuse
  • How our anger affects others/affects ourselves
  • Cycle of abuse
  • Building healthy relationships
  • Boundaries in relationships
  • Equality and respect in relationships
  • Communication, listening , conflict resolution

If you feel this programme would help you to make positive changes in your life, please contact me for course details and a registration pack.

Pursuing A New Identity

Individual Programme

Are you struggling with your sexual identity? Would you like to see something change but don’t know where to begin. I offer a ten session individual programme for women who identify themselves as lesbian, experience same sex attraction and/or find themselves struggling with emotionally dependant relationships, and would like to see a difference in those areas of their lives.

This programme is based around the book, “Out of Egypt – One Woman’s Journey Out of Lesbianism”, by Jeanette Howard, and the booklet, “Emotional Dependency”, by Lori Rentzel’, along with other articles related to the specific session topics. There is a cost for purchasing the book and booklet, as well as a cost for each session, which also includes the articles that go along with the programme.

If you feel this programme is for you please contact me.

“Lesli helped me with ways in which I can openly talk to my wife with practical examples, how to be honest, and easy things I can do to achieve a deep and meaningful relationship.” (Workshop participant)

“The exercises were good to help us think about things from our perspective and part in the relationship, instead of always putting blame on the other person.” (Workshop participant)

“Lesli explained all the concepts in a way that was easily understandable, non-threatening, in depth and with humour where appropriate. Very insightful day.” (Workshop participant)
